Warranty

We provide a warranty for 6 months against the main engine block, that is cylinderhead, piston failure. This provides peace of mind especially for a vehicle often 10 years or older. . Parts and labour covered if the vehicle is relayed back to our premises or designated garage. Otherwise parts covered only upon receipt of old/broken part and copy invoice. One claim allowed within the 6 month period.
We are always fair if our customers are reasonable as we all know many warranty policies have "get out clauses"  ours is based upon good judgement to look after our customers. All vehicles display warning lights for oil, water, engine temperature and battery. If it is clear that these warning lights have been ignored and the engine driven to a point of overheating then the warranty becomes null and void. We will endevour to repair at cost and as quickly as possible.

Overseas visitors

We have a long list of satisfied customers visiting Europe from Australia, Canada, USA, NZ and SA. Many have taken advantage of the direct source and buy back options. Trying to organise your trip in advance can be very difficult especially establishing a trust via the internet. We enjoy helping travellors and can forward our email list of satisfied customers. Many have collected their campervan direct from Frankfurt  ready to tour Europe and avoid expensive ferry costs and time wasted searching here in the UK. The campervans are often collected again ready for resale.

Buy Backs

We offer the option of a buy back service. Initially this idea was introduced for overseas visitors wishing to tour Europe and thus avoiding expensive hire options. The service has now been extended to all our customers.

We offer 2 buy backs:

1) Optional buy back for both parties

2) Sale or return

We will buy your vehicle back on a sale or return basis. Basically we pay you after we have resold the campervan.(average period being 1 month spring/summer and up to 3 months autumn/winter)

The buy back percentage for option 1

0 to 6 months use at 70% of purchase price

6 to 9 months use at 65% of purchase price

9 to 12 months use at 60% of purchase price

Buy back percentage for option 2(sale or return)

90% of its current market valuation returned, maximum selling period 3 months before mutual review.

Why choose left hand drive?

German campervans are usually better specified then UK conversions. For instance they use triple insulation for frost protection.

It makes sense to be adapted for mainland Europe after all most buyers expect to tour.

Driving position is easier then most realise. Controls and pedals are the same as right hand drive. Sitting in an elevated position also offers normal visibilty.

Service and parts

All campers come with a list of UK companies that offer repair and maintenance for the camping equipment. Most of the appliances are UK origin companies such as electrolux and thetford. We also have a list of service engineers for eberpacher heaters. The VW mechanics are as standard for the T1,T2,T25 and T4 transporters that you see everyday used as commercial vans.

VW engine choice

Up to 1982 VW utilised air-cooled engines of varying cubic capacity. The romantics still love the bubbling sound of these engines and they can be very reliable.Unfortunately they are outdated as far as performance and economy are concerned.

The water-cooled choice was introduced post 82 with a 1.9 petrol and 1.6 diesel. We avoid these engines for a number of reasons. The 1.9 petrol cam rods often disintegrated when changing head gaskets thus requiring a replacement engine. The 1.6 diesel engine was underpowered producing only 50hp and a clatter, smokey unit.

Later the 1.6 turbo diesel, taken from the Golf GTD was introduced. Power output was increased to 69hp. All our T25/3 vans have either this engine or the 2.1 petrol. The turbo diesel engine can be an excellent engine provided you understand how to look after it. Oil/water/diesel pumps have to be checked carefully and rubber hoses should be renewed.A cambelt change is essential at the correct intervals. The later 2.1 petrol engine required no cam belt change as it operates via a hydraulic system.

The VW T4 updated their engine choice including a 1.9,1.9TD, 2.0 petrol, 2.4 diesel and a 2.5 petrol.and later the TDi's. Both the petrol and diesel engines are of a high quality and will run beyond 200,000 miles if cared for. The non turbo 1.9 diesel is too slow and should be avoided. Often petrol engines will outweigh diesel for economy provided the initial van price reflects this and especially if coupled to an LPG system.
